Toni has also been employed by the Charleston County School District where she served as the Lead Interpreter and Interpreting Resource Coordinator.
Toni is nationally certified through the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf in both INTERPRETATION and TRANSLITERATION. Her skills and educational foundation were solidified in the Interpreter Training Program (ITP) at Valdosta State University in Valdosta, Georgia.
Her desire to provide freelance services comes from two sources of inspiration...the Deaf Community and a deep passion to serve them as well as recognizing a need to effectively "bridge the gap" of communications in a hearing world.
Toni's skills have been utilized in many different settings. She has provided services in schools, colleges, universities, hospitals, doctor's offices, police departments, retail establishments, civic organizations and within the tourist industry. Most notably, Toni served as the Program Interpreter for Harpo Productions and King World Productions when Oprah Winfrey and Wheel of Fortune taped programs in Charleston. She has also interpreted for well-known Deaf Storyteller Trix Bruce during the Piccolo Spoleto Festival.
